From feral Larry to good housecat brother, three sisters cats teach a teenage stray about love, respect, and boundaries: 'He's come a long way'

Teenage boys are hard to deal with whether they're human, cat, or something else! 

It's never easy to manage having many cats, and especially when they're all so different. It's no secret that men are from Mars and women are from Venus, but does it translate to cats as well? It might be apparent from your own experiences with animals, but sometimes they're more like us than we think. Take it from the couple who rescued this teenage stray back in April. He didn't want to be rescued and was quite resilient, but they did end up getting him into their home. He started out quiet, and then he became quite vocal. They realized that he needed to go to the vet, and then the rest got better. Teenage boys will be boys, whether they're cats, dogs, or humans. The couple has 3 adult female cats, and so they wanted to give everyone lots of time to get used to one another. After his recovery from the vet, he joined the sisters for fun time. He wasn't the quickest to learn, but he's come a long way. Now he loves and idolizes his older sisters, but he has mixed feelings as he's still learning to respect boundaries. He's learned about being a housecat from them and picked up some of their behaviors. 

Now that he's pretty immersed in the family, he quite enjoys his life of luxury, delicious snacks, fun toys, and comfy sleeping spots that aren't like the outdoors. He even loves bread! Read the full wholesome story below.

  • I know all about having a teenage son. I got my kitty when he was only 5 months old. He was a bigger kitten and so curious about the world. He wasn't skittish at all, he was actually really brave and adventurous right off the bat. It's funny to see the gender differences, because I do feel like he's much more mischievous than the female cats I grew up with. Having girl cats my whole life, I thought they just sit pretty. But seeing how playful and crazy he can be is so striking.
